Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington says that a 13-year-old Benton Middle School student has been arrested for Terrorizing after making social media threats against the school.

BPSO deputies began an investigation when a concerned parent brought the threats to their attention based on social media posts made by the student.

Sheriff Whittington would like to encourage parents to discuss the dangers of making threats on social media or otherwise with their children and to emphasize that there are consequences for these actions, even if the threats are deemed to be false.
